This lady from Stout, Colorado works at Horsetooth Inn and RV Park and recently her tiny gift shop had some unexpected visitors that not only made Lori’s day, but ours as well.
As she was casually doing her job, a doe entered the place and took a thorough look at every single product in the shop. Slowly browsing through the aisles, it was obvious the animal was having a fun time.
However, no matter how sweet and unusual this encounter was, what happened later was the real surprise that made everyone burst out laughing.
First, the deer only stood at the shop’s door and was hesitant whether to enter or not. But she eventually decided to give it a go.
The first thing that caught this doe’s attention were the cool sunglasses.
“It was hilarious,” Jones told. “She was looking at the sunglasses and the chips. I was laughing so hard.”
One person who was at the shop at that time got to say ‘hi’ to the cute animal.
As Lori told 9NEWS, after she believed it was about time for her to say goodbye to her visitor, she coaxed the deer out using some peanut bars.
But, nothing could prepare Lori for the real surprise. It looked as though the deer loved the shop so much that she decided to bring her whole family in.
“Later, I was in the office checking the store stock,” she said. “I walked out and there she was with her twins and a lone buck that she nursed. I just used my phone to snap the pics. I laughed so hard!”
This beautiful encounter reminds us how lucky some people are to be living near animals of this kind. Although it’s not that uncommon for deer and humans to interact, knowing that the residents of Stout are mainly deer, this encounter is still one of the most unusual we’ve seen.
Most of the time, it’s customers visiting the shop who should feel satisfied that they have gained something special. But this time, thanks to those random visitors, it was the storekeeper herself.

At the end of 2018, Ionia County Animal Shelter in Michigan experienced a huge rush of adoptions. Soon, almost every dog in their shelter had gone to a good home. Until January 2019, they just had one dog left in their shelter: a poor seven-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix, Capone.
Capone is a seven-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix who knows what it feels like to be replaced with another pet all too well. After he returned to the Ionia County Animal Shelter, this poor creature was completely changed and didn’t resemble the happy dog he once was. Above all, he was the last dog at the shelter and looking at him being all alone was a sad sight.
Capone was brought back to the shelter and was all sad and depressed. The staff remembered how he used to run around and wagged his tail whenever he would see a person or a furry friend. But now he had lost the spark in his eyes and wasn’t willing to interact with anyone. He even stopped eating, which made the shelter employees very concerned for his health.
The poor boy wondered whether his new family would love him the way he was ready to love them. He had a lot to give to humans who would take good care of him and give him a home.
This beautiful dog eventually became too attached to the shelter staff and wouldn’t let go of them. He was probably afraid that they might abandon him as well if he wasn’t around them all the time. They even gave him the name a “velcro dog.”
Everyone was aware how they had to do their best to find this pup the home he desperately needed. This time they wanted to place him in a family where he would be the only pet. They came up with the brilliant idea of sharing Capone’s photo and life story on their Facebook page, which resulted in many potential adopters who were eager to meet this sweet dog.
However, this particular couple fell in love with Capone instantly and they really wanted to have him. After the staff arranged a meeting, Joe and Ashlee got to the shelter and were ready to impress Capone by giving him a personalized tag with his name written on it.
The staff was a bit nervous because they knew how Capone was not trusting humans, but once he saw this couple he immediately ran towards them. It was definitely love at first sight.
That was one happy moment and a beginning to a new and everlasting friendship between these two people and lovely Capone. Jon and Ashlee brought Capone home that day, and the pup quickly settled into his new house. The couple shared a photo of Capone napping with the animal shelter. The dog had the biggest smile on his face. . His new parents snapped a photo of him smiling and it has to be the best photo you’ll see today.
“Look at that smile,” shelter volunteer Sammie Vincent said on Facebook. “Us shelter staff actually cried tears of joy for Capone.”
Capone sat in the shelter on his own for weeks, but it was all worth it—he now has the perfect forever home!
